Every year, around 4,200 mothers, fathers and relatives attend the courses offered by our “Elternschule” – directly connected to the maternity unit at the DRK Kliniken Berlin Westend. To help parents, grandparents and other caregivers act safely and calmly in emergencies, we offer specialized courses on the initial care of pediatric emergencies. As a course instructor, you explain in an easy-to-understand way how to properly treat wounds, respond quickly to breathing difficulties, recognize signs of poisoning, and remain calm and act correctly in serious situations – even without prior medical knowledge.

Completed training as a pediatric nurse / registered nurse with a specialization in pediatrics / paramedic

Professional experience or knowledge in the field of pediatrics

Ideally, but not required: experience as a group instructor
Your tasks

You independently or jointly lead first aid courses (for 12 to 16 participants) lasting five hours, focusing on emergency situations and first aid measures for babies and children

You explain how to prevent accidents and dangerous situations in everyday life

You address participants’ questions and concerns

You engage in professional exchange with our team of midwives, social workers, physiotherapists, doctors, pediatric nurses, childhood educators, and childcare professionals
